Our Process

PHASE I - SPACE PLANNING

This is where we dive into knowing and understanding both you and your desires and expectations for your project. It's the site information gathering and space planning stage, that also establishes our primary direction of styling through preliminary imagery.

PHASE II – DESIGN CONCEPT & MATERIALS

This phase brings the planning stage to life with elevations, mood and sample boards, materials, fixtures and 3D renderings if requested. This is where the look is established and confirmed, ready for Phase III of drawing production and documentation. At the close of this phase, we start putting our attention to the required timing of ordering furniture and all custom decor fabrications.

PHASE III – ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING DOCUMENT PRODUCTION

This is the construction drawing and schedules stage. All details are designed, drawn and dimensioned. It includes the demolition and new construction plan, elevations, sections, details, reflected ceiling & electrical plan along with the lighting, moulding, plumbing and materials schedule. AimID is very particular and thorough about this as it becomes the contractor's bible for your project.

PHASE IV – POST PRODUCTION & SUPERVISION

Now we enter the construction phase…this includes tendering or pricing for contractor selection and/or fabricators including scheduling; final ordering of materials & fixtures; fabricator and site supervision. This stage also incorporates the overseeing of furniture timelines, drapery fabrication and carpeting/area rug order status.

PHASE V – INSTALLATION & STAGING

Here’s when the contractor is getting close to completion and we organize and oversee the furniture & window treatment installations. We start acquiring the needed pieces of art, artifacts, accessories and accents necessary to do our final finessing of the whole package. Then we close the door behind us for you to finally enjoy your new, beautiful home sanctuary.

It is with great pleasure we get to write this review on Catherine Stringer and Aim Design. We contacted Catherine about a year ago when we were thinking of undergoing a kitchen renovation. Given the space constraints and never working with a designer before we thought this was going to be an uphill battle.

After our first meeting with Catherine she had asked me “Besides a wonderful design what are you looking to get out of this?” I thought this was a wonderful question and an opportunity to be totally honest with her. My response to her was this, “I would like to walk out of this renovation with a design that would wow me but more importantly I wanted the money we were spending on a designer to be the best money spent on the project.”

We met with Catherine and spoke a few times about some of the things we liked and wanted to see incorporated in our new kitchen and main floor. She took our thoughts and worked her magic and delivered us a kitchen and main floor that blew our minds away. She was very conscious of our budget and our time as well. She put to paper a design that was practical, elegant and what we believe to be timeless. She answered all calls and questions in a timely fashion and was always clear and to the point. Not only did she utilize the space, she also put a lot of time and effort in the small tiny details that tied this whole project together. She got along with every trade that worked in the house and all trades had very positive things to say about her (which is rare to have trades and designers get along). We admired her work ethic and her integrity and her ability to put us the client before anyone else. Her ideas were brilliant and her drawings were impressive. We had received many comments on how precise and in depth her drawings were. What was most impressive was the ability to tie all these pieces in together and give a platform for our contractor to work with. She was extremely easy to talk to and worked well with our contractor. She even made arrangements to have us see some of the work and talk to previous clients of hers. This left us with a level of comfort that we chose the right designer for us. We have no issues recommending Catherine to anyone looking to do some renovations or design work.

She went beyond the task. Not only did she deliver us a project design with wow factor it was truly the best money we spent.
